Proposal: Key an Economised Variety of All Numbers

Fewer than a quorum not voting AGAINST. Failed at 1 FOR, 1 AGA, 3 REVISE, by kevan.

To the rule “Scoring”, add a paragraph:-

A Wordsmith’s Pool is made up of, for the most recent Scorings they have made on each Backronym that was posted since the last time an Acrogenerate action was performed, the number X in each Scoring’s “Score X”. If a Wordsmith’s Pool contains at least four different numbers (or no repeated numbers at all), then that Wordsmith is considered Balanced, otherwise they are considered Askew.

Then replace “For each Wordsmith that posted a Scoring to that Backronym” with:-

For each Balanced Wordsmith that posted a Scoring to that Backronym

Replace “A Scoring should reflect how much the commenter likes the Backronym, and how well they think it fits the Prompt (if the Prompt is not blank). ” with:-

A Scoring should reflect how much the commenter likes the Backronym, how well they think it fits the Prompt (if the Prompt is not blank), and any attempt they wish to make to spread the numbers in their Pool.

The Pool proposal revised as requested: only four numbers, and more thoughtful reflection.

I’ll omit the one-round delay since we’ve just started this one.

against I really don’t want this to pass during the current round because it is likely I will be Askew when it passes and will have a different standard applied at Resolution time than at Scoring time.

And speaking of timing problems, it’s possible for a Wordsmith to be Balanced for some Backronyms and become Askew for later resolved ones, or vice versa.

arrow Per Bucky. Should be offset from the current round.

I’m not convinced that this is necessary anymore, but I’ll imperial to the affected players

“it’s possible for a Wordsmith to be Balanced for some Backronyms and become Askew for later resolved ones” - how’s that?

After the Puzzler has resolved some of the Backronyms but before he has resolved others, the Wordsmith might change the fourth unique score on one of the not-yet-resolved ones to match one of his other scores.

Scores are locked in once the Puzzler had started resolving Backronyms: you can only post new a Scoring while “[n]o Backronym has been Closed since the most recent Acrogenerate action”.
