Gwangju, South Korea — A series of student-led demonstrations has just erupted against the military dictator Chun Doo-hwan. The ROK is actively suppressing the protests, and has been firing on the students. At least 165 people are confirmed dead, with the death toll rising every hour.

I’m giving a bonus for avoiding proper nouns in a round where it was very difficult to do so, but this backronym could stand to be a lot less vague about which historical event it refers to.
