In “The Night”, replace “For each Truck, reduce their Dollars by the Cost of each Ingredient” with:-

For each Open Truck, reduce their Dollars by the Cost of each Ingredient

Uphold the fact of all past Prepare Ingredient steps not being applied to Closed and Dark Trucks.

I’ve just realised that under the rule as written, Dark Trucks should still be paying for the ingredients of their Menus on the nights that they close; whether that’s because they set a full Menu before changing their mind and Closing, or because they have a Signature Dish that never goes away.

I’ve only been applying it to Open Trucks. As this wording has been in place since the first Night, this is a vote to uphold it and play on, rather than working out how much to retroactively fine everyone.

Yes, it’s a defined glossary term: “To uphold an attempt to take an action is to retroactively declare the attempt to have been successful, and to declare that all attempted game actions taken after that attempt were attempted as though the upheld attempt had been successful.”

It’s intended to keep us focused on the specific events that we’d want to consider, and to remember to include all the later knock-on effects.

Yes, but the fact that all past prepare ingredient steps are not appplied to Closed and Dark trucks is already a fact; you didn’t apply them. You’re upholding a fact, not an “attempt to take an action”.
