Welcome to the game! Quorum rises to 9.

I’m sending you a PM with your GNDT password now.

I notice you’ve made a couple of votes already. Just so you know, those can’t be counted; if you want those votes to stick you’ll have to recast them now that you’re officially a player.

[Josh] Is that still true, about having to recast votes? The rule is “A Student’s Vote on a Votable Matter is the last valid voting icon that they have used in any comment on that Votable Matter.”, which doesn’t seem to preclude icons used in comments before that human became a player.

I may be remembering something is no longer true, but the argument used to be that if a person who is not a Student casts a vote then it is not a valid vote, as only Students can cast votes, and therefore the vote doesn’t automagically become valid if the person then later becomes a student.

Not sure that it’s ever been tested with a CfJ.

Hmm, I suppose we also have “Each Student may cast one Vote on a Votable Matter by making a comment to the Official Post that comprises that Votable Matter using a voting icon of FOR, AGAINST, or DEFERENTIAL.” meaning that votes can only be cast by players, but the sentence I quote above suggests that a player can independently possess a vote as a result of their own earlier non-player comment.

I realized that too late.
However, realize that on the list of students, I was not listed.  Therefore “student” didn’t apply to me.
