Proposal: Power Play Take 2

Add a new dynastic rule called “Showing Off” and give it the following text

A Band Member may choose to Show Off by sending a PM to the Frontman. That Band Member is considered to be Showing Off until they cease to be a Band Member or the ruleset states otherwise.

In the rule “Fame” replace

if all Band Members have the same style, the Frontman must first increase the Fame of each of the Band Members by C where C is the number of Band Members, divided by two, rounded up and then reassign each Band Member a new style via the process used for new Musicians. All Band Members then become Hangers On

with

if all Band Members have the same style, then if there is exactly one Band Member who is Showing Off the Frontman must increase that Band Member’s Fame by B where B is the number of Band Members. Otherwise, Frontman must increase the Fame of each of the Band Members who is not Showing Off by C where C is the number of Band Members, divided by two, rounded up. In either case, the frontman must reassign each Band Member a new style via the process used for new Musicians and all Band Members then become Hangers On (and thus cease to be Showing Off)

Somehow removed the resassignment line in the old proposal.

imperial It’s not game-breaking, so I’m not against. I’m just not that into the idea, but why not.

This isn’t Chicken, this is Prisoner’s Dilemma in a situation with no replays.

It isn’t either, first because of the multi-player factor (In Prisoner’s Dilemma, you can’t do worse by taking the aggressive option. But here, if three people play aggressive and one person goes passive, that person will still get some fame and had any of the three people also gone passive, they would’ve been better off), second because in Prisoner’s Dilemma the punishment for you going passive when the other person goes aggressive is *worse* than the aggressive aggressive outcome rather than just being the same.
