Protosal: Spot the loopholes.

Add a new sub-rule to rule 2.8 “Combat” call it “Honor Battle” and give it the text:

An @ may Challenge another @ to a Fight to the Death by making a Story Post indicating their challenge. If the challenge is accepted, both @s may not be fought by any @s other than each other until the challenge is ended. They also may not fight any other @s or Monsters until the challenge is ended.

A challenge is accepted if the @ being challenged makes a comment to the story post indicating their acceptance. A challenge is ended if the @ being challenged makes a comment to the story post indicating their refusal of the challenge, if 24 hours have passed since the challenge was made and it has not been accepted, if one of the two @s dies or is on a different Dungeon Level than the other, or if the RNG posts a comment to the story post which contains the text “Break it up.”

Once a challenge is accepted it may not be ended by the challengeing @ makeing a comment refusing it. Once a challenge is ended, it ceases to be a challenge.

Two @s who are in a challenge with each other may fight the other @ as a daily action, per rule 2.8, but may also do so if the other @ was the last between them to fight, or if neither one of them has fought since the challenge was accepted.

Because I know that they are there. Many eyes, and all that.

I’m not so keen, just because it doesn’t actually add any additional mechanisms for the duelling fighters to use to attack each other - it just makes them both immune to outside attack. In fact, two @s could duel each other but purposefully not attack, and hope that the RNG doesn’t notice.

The additional mechanism is in the last paragraph. It lets two @s trade blows until one of them is dead, instead of waiting several days for the battle to resolve. it also grants protection to PvPers from being mobbed.

Yes, I just quite like the idea of mobbing.

Especially on level 1. I’d hate to see that resolve as a series of sterile one-on-ones.

Loophole: Participate in more than one challenge.  You are immune to all combat until one of the challenges ends.

Loophole: The last paragraph applies even if the challenge is not accepted.  An @ could challenge someone who has just attacked and then attack them without using their daily action attack.
