Proposal: Shouldn’t we really start studying?

Add a new rule, “The Classes”:

The Students will be taking classes according to the weekday, as described in this rule:
Monday, “Proposal” classes. All students can have up to 3 pending Proposals, if at least two of them were made during this class. The Professor’s maximun pending Proposals remains 2, so that he can take a time to evaluate the Students work. This class cannot be missed.
Tuesday, “Weighting” classes. All Students should take a time to analyze the Pending Votable Matters. This class cannot be missed.
Wednesday, “The Ruleset” classes. The professor should make a posts to discuss the current Ruleset. He and the students should compare it to other Dynasties Rulesets. This is an optional class, which means a Student can’t be said to have missed it.
Thursday, “Studying the Past” classes. The professor should make a post about past Dynasties, emphasizing the pros and cons of them. This is an optional class, which means a Student can’t be said to have missed it.
Friday, “The Relax and Enjoy the Game” classes. No student ever misses this class.
Saturday, “The new classes” classes. The professor can make one free Proposal for a new class, which means that this Proposal does not count for the maximum Pending Proposals of the Professor and also does not count for the maximum of 3 Proposals in a day of the Professor. The new class can be added to an already existing class of a weekday or can replace one or more of the already existing classes of that day. This class cannot be missed.
Sunday, “The Relax and Enjoy the Game” classes. No student ever misses this class.

A class does not exist if it’s not described in this rule.

If a Student fails to follow the class’s instructions, it means that the Student missed the class. Missing a class increases the “Classes Missed” value in the GNDT of a Student by one. Missing 3 classes changes a Student’s status to Expelled.

Add a column in the GNDT named “Status” and make every player status “Attending the classes”.
Add a column in the GNDT named “Classes Missed” and set every value of that column to 0.

Add a new rule, “Victory Conditions”:

If all but one Student’s status is “Expelled”, that student is said to have won the game.

I made it simpler, and switched all “shall” for “should”, which, according to the Appendix’s keywords (Should: “is recommended that”) means that there is no obligation on doing it. It’s more like a suggestion.
Also, I didn’t defined classes that can actually be missed for now. The idea is to have this approved first, so that other players can also propose classes and changes to this rule, since I’m already in my Proposal cap for the next day or so.

There is not a single way to miss a class for now, so the Victory Condition should not be something to worry about. Again, just suggesting a mechanism to the game.

What does “This class cannot be missed” mean?
(a) One can’t miss the class even if he fails to follow class’s instructions (but by definition then he misses the class);
(b) Missing the class is prohibited.
Either way, it seems to me that there is no way to increase “Classes Missed”: it is either impossible (contradictory) or illegal.

And about “can” vs “may”... Students are able to make three proposals, but are they allowed to?

Yeah, I should have sticked with “No student ever misses this class.” If it’s impossible (or contraditory), does that means it won’t really affect the game? (if so, I can make a patch later, instead of having this fail again).
Sorry, I wasn’t aware of that “can” vs “may”, I can also patch it when I have a slot. It should be “may”.

I don’t really like it, it is limiting our options without adding much, and one-day only options are almost as bad as daily actions in my opinion. against

Well, the idea of the classes is to not change much the gameplay, but still add a little more feeling to the game. The concept is to add little events that might give Students a boost (or penalty) now and then, without making someone who doesn’t play everyday to lose much (for now, the only thing you can lose is the possibility of an extra Proposal, if you don’t login on Mondays [I was thinking it would speed up the game a little, since only a few people are making proposals for now]). The “missing classes” mechanism is more of a way to penalize people that doesn’t get into the spirit of the classes (which again, shouldn’t be much of a problem, as I doubt something as “you must take an action this day or you’ll miss the class” will pass).

About weekly actions, I was thinking of making a proposal to call them “Lessons” and give Bucky the ability to propose it once per week (or just have it defined as something until Bucky decides to change). I’d just like to have this classes idea settled first.

against .  Apparently unreachable victory condition that isn’t related to any of the dynasty’s existing main mechanics is scam-bait.

That’s really not what I had in mind, but I see the point.
