Add a new subrule to “Pace”. Call it “Contingent Proposals” and give it the following text:
If a proposal starts with the text “Dependent on X”, where X is the name of a proposal or a list of proposals, if any of those proposals fails, the Dependent proposal is considered to be Self-Killed.
I can imagine putting this in the core rules, although it might be too complicated to make a core part of the game.
@Maldor: It does but at the time of me posting this it has 2 hrs left before it can be adminned per the Pace rule.
This proposal lacks a vote from Josh, and the Pace rule requires that every Townsperson has voted in favour of a proposal for it to be enacted outside of the weekend.
Kevan: We’re also operating under a common English definition of ‘Townsperson’, so it also requires votes from a bunch of people who aren’t playing.
BlogNomic is an online Nomic: a self-modifying game where changing the rules is part of the game. Players make blog posts proposing additions or alterations to the ruleset, discussing and casting votes in the comments: if enough vote in favour, the rules are changed and play continues.
The game has been running since 2003 and resets every month or so. Have a look around the wiki for more information and history. New players are always welcome and can join in the game at any time.
