Proposal: [Special Case] Where You Lead, I Won’t Follow

Fewer than a quorum not voting against. Failed 1-5 by Kevan.

To the end of the Special Case rule Imperial Deferentials, add:

In this case, the Deferential votes of other Individuals are valid votes but count as neither FOR nor AGAINST.

I find it weird that proposals are passing with 1 FOR vote and 5 imperial DEFs.

Of course, all this really changes is the pace at which things can be enacted or failed, rather than the actual outcome.

I find it surprising that so many people are casting votes of “I don’t care, I’ll go with the majority on this one” on gameplay proposals in a very factional dynasty. Is this intentional, or are some players misunderstanding the consequences of a DEF vote?

against I like the interaction too, because I feel like there should be a strong sway to either FOR or AGAINST to get Proposals done sooner, and DEFs are voluntary anyways.

[In the case this passes, I’m assuming you mean deferential and not differential. This is the SCP Dynasty, not the Car Maintenance Dynasty.]

Oops.

Does that count as a typo?

Well it’s that or the proposal fizzles because it does nothing.

against If there’s a problem here, it’s that players are casting votes of “majority should decide” when they don’t mean it. That’s something that can be fixed by talking to those players, if it needs fixing at all. If they mean it, we may as well play on.

(I think it counts as a typo, particularly in the age of autocorrect.)

against although i think this proposal would be fine if it introduced a vote of Majority for players to use in cases where they are unconcerned with the outcome, since that would make it clearer their intentions.
