Proposal: Stairway to Heaven

If Proposal: Scroll Up was not enacted, in the rule The Campfire at the End of Hell, change “All other dynastic rules are flavour text” to “All dynastic rules apart from this one and its subrules are flavour text.”

Add the following as a subrule to the rule The Campfire at the End of Hell, called Acoustic Guitar, with the following text:

Each Tripper has an acoustic guitar, which they are either strumming or not strumming; whether or not a Tripper is strumming their acoustic guitar is publicly tracked, and they are not strumming by default. A Tripper can change whether or not they are strumming at any time, if they have not changed whether or not they are strumming in the preceding 24 hours.

When a Tripper is strumming their acoustic guitar, they are not considered to be a Tripper for the purposes of any dynastic rule except this one (although they retain their value for Coins). As a daily communal action, any Tripper may reduce the Coins of all Trippers who are strumming by 1, to a minimum of zero.

I think there isn’t actually a scam here as “not strumming” is alphabetically before “strumming” but might be good to clarify that not strumming is the default.

Also maybe add support for changing this value?

Also doesn’t “they are not considered to be a Tripper for the purposes of any dynastic rule except this one” mean that strumming Trippers don’t have a defined coin value?

I would go with something like “If they have not done so within the last 24 hours, A Tripper can change whether or not they are strumming” or let the demon hit strummers.

Right now, I think this gives too big of an advantage to those of us who can be on when the time changes. I could strum at 23:55, fire off the demon shot at 00:05, then stop strumming at 00:55. Leaving only a hour window where maybe the fact that I’m not strumming could be exploited. Which is a risk, sure, but people in other timezones can’t even take that risk.

because you wouldn’t be considered a tripper for the purposes of “Randomly select a Tripper who has a positive number of coins” due to the “they are not considered to be a Tripper for the purposes of any dynastic rule except this one” clause. So the demon couldn’t hit you.

seems good now. I like the double purpose of using the strumming to hide from the demon (but risking someone else winning while you’re gone) while also giving players an opportunity to just remove themselves.
