Proposal: Sweet Spells

Self-killed. Failed by Kevan.

Adminned at 16 Nov 2010 08:11:41 UTC

If the Proposal titled “Wizard Tuck” failed, this Proposal does nothing.

Add a subrule to the rule “Spells” with the title “Toil and Trouble”

Difficulty Level: UNE 2, ALC 1
Effect: Double the amount of Loathed Deans possessed by the targeted Student.

Add a subrule to the rule “Spells” with the title “Hungry Homunculus”

Difficulty Level: BST 2
Effect: The caster gains a ‘Homunculus 3’ Enchantment. Whenever a Student with a ‘Homunculus N’ Enchantment (where N is a positive number) completes a Spell, they may reduce the force of this Enchantment by 1 and remove a Sugar Lungorthin from their Tuck. If they do, they do not have to decrement any grades to complete that Spell. Changes in grades that are caused by the Effect of a Spell are unaffected.. If this action brings the Force of the Enchantment to zero, it is lost.

against Moves us back into the victory-by-spell-loop-scam territory that the Headmaster warned us away from. Especially if Marvolo’s Challenge ends up on the books.

I agree that the Homunculus may be a bit too strong, and would probably be fairer at a force of 2, but casting spells is still limited to one per week. The Homunculus just gives you the option of giving up your weekly spell for a few cheaper spells in the future.

against per Josh.

Could someone more familiar with the workings of the ruleset with regard to variables tell me if someone would still be protected by a Homunculus enchantment if they had no Sugar Lungorthins in their tuck?

against Per Josh and the Loathed Deans multiplication.

@William: If you don’t have any Sugar Lungorthins, you won’t be able to trigger the Grade protection when you cast a spell but you’ll still keep the enchantement. Does this answer your question?

against Looks a little too easy to trigger a Dark Ascendancy using “Toil and Trouble”, with no way to stop the buildup of Loathed Deans.
