Decrease each Nomicer’s Equity by 5.
Maybe we should have started these at zero, so that a baseline player who has not attempted to gain any Equity at all should have a 0% chance of winning the Roll Off rather than (at time of writing) 7.8%.
We can’t reduce the value too early (e.g. at the start of the dynasty) because the AoA condition is based on a proportion; four times 5 is a lot more than four times 0.
It might not be too early now, though, because most players have found a source of Equity and thus it’s unlikely that something like this might cause the AoA to trigger early.
I think it’s OK to do this now, although it would have been dangerous even a little earlier.
BlogNomic is an online Nomic: a self-modifying game where changing the rules is part of the game. Players make blog posts proposing additions or alterations to the ruleset, discussing and casting votes in the comments: if enough vote in favour, the rules are changed and play continues.
The game has been running since 2003 and resets every month or so. Have a look around the wiki for more information and history. New players are always welcome and can join in the game at any time.
