Declaration of Victory: The Golden Avenue

I just drove an Active Golden Route, with four other Golden Routes in my pool at the time. Thus, I achieve victory.

Thanks to the GNDT randomizer for getting a Golden Route in the first two of my pool, meaning I didn’t have to wait until tomorrow. Also, thanks to it for giving me Golden Routes from Tailgate Routes twice. (I bought two earlier at a cost of 15 each, and bought a surcharged one at 17 today with the help of income from scouting a Dump Route.)

What were you odds with the tailgate->golden routes? I tried to make my pool as frendly as possible for that, but it was too late. If Bucky had unidled before you and gotten super lucky he could’ve used the dump route trick, bought a tailgate route, RAed, driven the tailgate route to turn it into a golden route than driven a golden route. But he didn’t get on in time to try.

The first tailgating was 2 in 5, IIRC; the second one was 1 in 4. Your pool streamlining came too late for it to be worth me targeting you (and also, I cared about the pool having a bunch of other useful routes in; I was hoping for Go, but would have been happy with Hi, Ai, or even Vi or Ex).

For the record, I consider the ability of Tailgate routes to become Golden Routes to be a bug.

I wasn’t even planning to use a Tailgate-based strategy, incidentally; it just sort of happened. The problem with Ta hitting Go isn’t that it’s too unbalanced, just that it’s too swingy; someone getting the luck I had could win very quickly.
