I feel like this just turns it into a churn though. Once you have a group that works and is giving you harmony, you have no incentive to brand out and get more members. What do you have against the resetting the band idea?

I suppose I’m just a bit wary of a faction-based/secret-information dynasty where it’s common for players to flip sides randomly, and for built-up deduction about other players’ identities to become regularly redundant. Maybe I’m coming at it from the wrong angle, though.

[Clucky] Fair point, it’d certainly reduce the benefit gained from being in a collaborating faction. I’m not sure if that’s worth throwing out the deduction side of things, though - any successful Harmony is going to encourage outside players to break up that group to stop them gaining more Harmony together anyway.

It seems too easy as it is now for the same group of musicians to remain in the band for 7 days once they get there

It’s meant to encourage the band to recruit a new member (or, more likely, to kick someone out) so that they can try for more than one Harmony per week, which is a big deal for the surviving band members.

If we did end up with a band stolidly pausing for seven days before every Harmony, a week is a long time in Nomic - I’m sure the Hangers On would propose methods to unseat them.

Hmm, OK. I’m not sure that’s enough though, they could still kick someone out, attempt harmony, get him back in and kick someone else, etc. until seven days have pass and they can do it all over again.
But, well, I guess that doesn’t make things work, so
