The Next Dynasty

...will be somewhat Roman Mythos in theme.  Since I haven’t played a lot of Nomic, I’m planning to let it be pretty open ended - I’ll just give it a push.
Anyone with Antiquarian leanings want to design a site theme?  I don’t really know how…

The Ascension Address will probably be in about 24 hours, unless it takes me longer to get something I’m happy with.

IN NOMINE IOVIS CLAMO: INFORMATIO PRAECLARUS EST.

(In your spare time, you could read up on minor deities, like Alecto…)

Do Greek, Nordic, Sumerian, Egyptian etc deities get to play too?  Or are we just Roman?

We’ve had a multi-pantheon dynasty before, so a purely Roman one would be better for not repeating ourselves.

Nice logo design!

Yay! (^_^)
‘can’t wait to see how this plays out. =D

I’ve updated the GNDT colors.

By the way, Alecto is Greek, not Roman…

Darth—Alecto is Greek AND Roman.  Specifically, Alecto is in the Aeneiad, written in Latin by a Roman named Virgil.

But that’s why I’d wondered if this was going to be multi-pantheon.  Who made the logo?  I like it.

SALVE ALECTUS!
Everyone should have to adopt a Roman-style name for the dynasty.

I shall be known as Gnaeus Dartus Clicus, then.

Rolls off the tongue now doesn’t it Darth?

spikebrennan: You mean Alecte, vocative. Alectus is nominative.

I’ll have to be Anubis Tertius, then.

And darth: do you inflect names, too?

Klisz:

30-11-2010 05:16:38 UTC

Yes, you inflect names. Ien, you also need to choose a praenomen.

Klisz:

Gah, that article has far too long of a list. The one here is much better.

Alecto:

30-11-2010 05:26:14 UTC

Well, Alecto to is a transliteration of Ἀληκτώ which means the Romans (who liked to show off that they knew Greek) would most likely decline in the Greek declension.  Fem. voc stays the same, so
SALVE ALECTO is probably correct :P

Klisz:

Yes, but he said ALECTUS.

Which should really be ALECTVS anyway.

Also, I made a new veto icon. Currently uploading it.

If one of the super admins would be so kind as to upload it to the server.

Nice =)

I’ve put Darth’s icon here and written it into the stylesheet, but can’t remember how to edit the smiley icons. Can another admin remind me, or fix it themselves?

(I think it’s probably better to upload a separate image rather than overwrite the default seal.gif, so that any admin can reset the icon at the end of the dynasty, rather than it having to be someone with server access. We’ve been stuck with the wrong voting icons when a dynasty’s ended, before.)

I think only superadmins can edit the smiley icons. I don’t know how they’d do that, though.

Septimus Anubis Tertius.
