Turn To Page 48

This has nothing to do with the current dynasty. There’s some notes that I took that I’d like to share on some information that is not currently regulated gamestate.

Buzzwords:

  1. deodorize
  2. district
  3. faction
  4. manliness
  5. myself
  6. poster
  7. scope
  8. slogan
  9. travesty
  10. unfitted

Backronym comments:

  • “Kingdom of the Eight Viziers: Arabian Knights” deserved more than a median Score of 3. It was a pretty strong board game title entry.

I don’t have any strong feelings about any of the other Backronyms median Score. There were certainly tactical scoring decisions made, and maybe some tit-for-tat ones as well, but in the end, the median smoothed out those outliers most of the time.

It was an error to say “Rectorship” matched all the letters in “scope” when matching all the letters in “poster” should’ve taken precedence.

It was an error to say “thanatologist” did not include all the letters of any of the Buzzwords when it included all the letters of “slogan”.

I’m honestly more annoyed about the score Answers in the Remains of Inuit Alaska got than Kingdom of the Eight Vizeries. We need more non-eurocentric fantasy!

Agreed on both counts

Agreed on both Buzzword error counts.

I have no opinion on Answers in the Remains of Inuit Alaska.

‘poster’ matches clue ‘retrospective’ with appearance 7.
‘poster’ matches clue ‘rectorship’ with appearance 7.

Out of curiosity, and this isn’t a gotcha, did you consider the following, from Spelling and Formatting:

Superficial differences between the spelling of geographic versions of English, e.g. British English, American English and Australian English shall be construed as irrelevant for the purposes of play.

when assessing matches? At the very least, deodorize should have been considered strictly analogous to deodorise.

I did not consider that. I only considered literal letter matches.
