Proposal: Weekly Newspaper v2

Add a section called “Weekly Newspaper”, within it, add:

The UNSG shall make a Story Post which is contains one Article per CIC, once per week. This post is the Weekly Newspaper post, and its posted text content is purely flavor. CICs can privately communicate to the UNSG an Article (composed of a headline and body of text) to add or, if they already have one added, overwrite their Article to be published in the next Weekly Newspaper post. If a CIC hasn’t communicated an Article to the UNSG since the last Weekly Newspaper post, their Article is considered to be: “No News”, “Not Available” as title as text respectively. The UNSG can overwrite any text content to be published in the Weekly Newspaper to “[Redacted]”.

Even patched with redaction, I’m still generally cautious of inject-free-text-into-a-gamestate-variable proposals from the player most likely to do something weird and tenuous with that.

Flavour seems neutral. We can all post anything we like to the blog already, or message you asking for something to be reposted.

As a player, scams are bad if they mean that someone else wins or (more likely here) that the game is paused for Hiatus during a tenuous grab at victory which everyone disagrees with. I’m going to need a bigger personal benefit than flavour, before supporting a free-text-injection proposal written by that kind of player.

(Note that even if you redact 100% of all Articles under this proposed rule, they’ll still exist as Articles in gamestate. You can only redact the text you’re posting to the Newspaper.)

There’s some value in explicitly encouraging the flavor, and some gameplay value I can see in giving out information that gets released in one batch at the same time as everyone else’s.
