Proposal: A Game of Tag

Fewer than a quorum not voting against. Failed 1 vote to 7, with one unresolved DEF, by Kevan.

In the steps of the Reveal the Consequences action in the rule “Mansion Phase”, after the step that starts “If an Explorer is the only Explorer in a room, and the Black Cat is also in that room”, add the following step:

* If an Explorer is Possessed by Katastrophe and is in the same Room as exactly one other Explorer, and that other Explorer was not Possessed by Katastrophe during either of the previous two Explorers Phases, Katastrophe Possesses that other Explorer.

Note the no-tagbacks clause.

Doesn’t this effectively stop the Possessed player from using a couple of the malfeasances out of fear that they’ll give up their power in the process?
against  because we’ve already seen little enough activity on the malfeasances front, so we definitely don’t need the possessed player intentionally avoiding interacting with anyone further.

You don’t need to be currently possessed to use malfeasances, Dark Reordering excepted.

No, but if a possessed wants to steal an item from someone, they literally have to give up their cat powers to do so. If they want to kidnap someone away from somewhere, they likewise give up their cat powers.

against This would allow Katastrophe to easily stop being Katastrophe whenever it suited them, eg. when they wanted to make a Summoning Attempt and declare victory.

@Kevan The Explorer would drop all their Fragments upon ceasing to be Katastrophe and would then have to spend a week picking them up again.

“Whenever Katastophe unpossesses the Explorer that is holding this Item; this item is immediately dropped as if it is not Cursed.”

For all I know there’s a loophole around that allows items to be picked up quickly, or kept. Beware of Nomic players making victory-adjacent amendments for no obvious or stated reason.

Perhaps I’m the only human left in this Mansion, but I’m generally finding it hard to get behind these proposals to give a single, secret opponent of mine more options.

I mean your objections are having the passive effect of making it harder for the Katastrophe role to be passed around, which looks… opposite,
