Proposal: Don’t Dream It’s Over, with one hundred percent more proposal!

13-1, enacted. - lilomar

Adminned at 29 Jul 2010 13:03:33 UTC

If the Proposal entitled “We Are Not Alone, now with proposal power!” fails, this Proposal does nothing.

Following the enactment of this Proposal, the High-Programmer may select Citizens (excluding himself) to belong to one or more of the following groups in a manner of his choosing: The Secret Policemen, The Alien Subversives, The Rebel Usurpers, and The Criminal Underground. Citizens belonging to one or more groups shall be notified via PM of this change.

Add a new subrule entitled “Sequel Police” to the rule “We Are Not Alone” with text as follows:

The Secret Police

Add a new subrule entitled “Remulak, A Small Town In France” to the rule “We Are Not Alone” with text as follows:

The Alien Subversives

Add a new subrule entitled “Do Or Do Not; There Is No Try” to the rule “We Are Not Alone” with text as follows:

The Rebel Usurpers

Add a new subrule entitled “The Christian League Had The Seedy Underbelly Shut Down” to the rule “We Are Not Alone” with text as follows:

The Criminal Underground

My good friend Har-V-DNT-1 was raving in The People’s Square the other day about rebels buying cloned alien organs on the black market. I had never heard such wild tales before, so I watched him for a few minutes before some very nice looking men took him away to recuperate. I do hope he’s feeling better.

I’ve never played Paranoia, so these names have been made up on the fly.

If I am allowed to make a recommendation to Lil-U-MAR-1 (nice naming, btw), I would suggest every Citizen is part of at least one group, some random mechanism should determine whether Citizens belong to more than one group. But - of course - I may only suggest my ideas and will respect the High Programmer‘s decision.

The groups from the original game included:
- Sierra Club
- Communists
- First Church of Christ, Programmer (a.k.a. the Assemblers of God)
- Death Leopard

Yeah, if I’d looked at any resource before writing my proposal, I would have used real group names. You can always propose replacement names if you have a slot.

spikebrennan: also, Psion and Anti-Mutant, my two favorite groups, especially when put together on the same Troubleshooter team… >:)
