Proposal: Ghosts [Demand]

Timed out 2 votes to 5. Failed by Kevan. +1 Mediator Clearance.

Flush the marks.

Add a new rule to the ruleset with the name “Medical Nanobots”:

The Jenny Haniver is equipped with state of the art nanorobotics. The nanorobots have no healing capability to speak of, but they do have a built-in neutral network. Any Crewmember with the “Disabled” condition is considered to be Augmented by the nanobots. Any action that is listed as being Telepathic can only be carried out by Augmented Crewmembers.

Add a new subrule to the newly created rule. Call it “Possession”, and give it the following text:

If a Trial or Mission has not received a number of EVCs equal to or greater than the number of non-Disabled Crewmembers, then any Crewmember may, as a Telepathic action, make a Posession Vote on that Votable Matter. A Possession Vote must include the name of a non-Disabled Crewmember who has not voted on that Votable Matter, and is considered to be the EVC of that Crewmember.

against .  Possession appears to be too broken to allow.

against This appears to be part of an instant-win scam (likely a timing scam). I suspect other people are in a better position to act on it than I am.

Bucky / ais - I’m not sure that I see the scams here, although the appearance of a reasonable-liking proposal as a demand certainly suggests that there are some. Would you point them out?

The obvious one: a Command Quorum-sized team of Disabled crewmembers, plus one non-Disabled confederate, could immediately Disable-via-Trial anyone.

Mm, I spotted that. I guess it strikes me as unlikely to work, both because of the size of the team needed, the twelve hour lock-out on trial resolutions and the ease with which it can be disrupted (i.e. by a Possessed Crewmember coming in and “COV"ing their possessed vote).

against on the basis that there probably is something worse in there - or, more likely, that the Androids have something up their sleeves for the mark flush and are hiding it with a reasonable-looking proposal.

against I don’t think Crewmembers can CoV if they’ve been possessed: the possessed vote is the EVC, which I understand to mean that it is the EVC regardless of what votes that Crewmember makes later. And there are one or two phaser shots remaining, and I’m pretty sure once that shot goes off there will be enough disabled to auto-kill anyone.

Josh, why is there a Demand with Flush the Marks right now? I mean, not that I would expect you to know… just wondering.

Probably because at this stage in the game no player wants to be associated with the mark flush action.

Actually, imperial because I can’t resist running jokes and this proposal isn’t going to pass anyway.
