Proposal: Hijacking Routes

Self-killed. Failed by Kevan.

Create a new subrule to “Routes”, titled “Hijacking Route”:

A Hijacking Route has a scouting cost of 10.  When a Driver Drives a Hijacking Route, that Driver rolls DICEN, where N is the number of Drivers, and Drives the first Route in the Nth Driver’s pool, alphabetically.  Instead of Driving that Route, the Driver may pay 1 Cash and repeat the process.

Note that driving a Route puts it at the end of the pool.  This doesn’t allow people to steal routes, just borrow them.

against Because it creates time windows. If I have a shiny route on top, I need to make sure I drive it ASAP to prevent someone from driving it before I can.

Also, if AA to ZZ fails this will create namespace collision with Highway

Actually, it does either way. :/ against Going to have to repropose.

There is a problem with the formulation.
“that Driver rolls DICEN, where N is the number of Drivers, and Drives the first Route in the Nth Driver’s pool, alphabetically”
should be instead “and Drives the first Route in the Kth Driver’s pool, alphabetically, where K is the result of the roll”.

As for the namespace collision, why not assign a specific code for each route directly in that route subrule, instead of taking the first two letters?
This way Hijacking Routes could be coded Hj, or Highway Routes could be coded Hw, for instance.
