Proposal: Most Bloggers Play With Just A Stick

Timed out 1-0. Enacted by card.
Maybe people should vote more often if proposals are just going to time out with simply the author’s vote passing it.

Add to “Bloggers”

Each Blogger has a “Blogging Average” tracked on the Blogger Roster, which is a measure of their accuracy at hitting things with a tool. Blogging Averages are two digit decimal numbers which range from 0.00 to 0.99. After playing a game in which they use a Stick and are not drugged, a Blogger adds half of their Blogging Average rounded to two decimal places to their Level.

In Gameplay change “A team’s power is the sum of the Levels of the team’s players.” to

A team’s power is the sum of the Levels of the team’s Bloggers rounded down.

In Recruitment change “Their Level is determined by the sum of 3 DICE6 rolled in the GNDT. Each stat is determined by 2 DICE4, +2 rolled in the GNDT (each stat receives its own roll).” to

Their Level is determined by the sum of 3 DICE6 rolled in the GNDT. Each stat is determined by 2 DICE4, +2 rolled in the GNDT (each stat receives its own roll) The Blogging Average is determined by (DICE100 - 1) * 0.01

Then for each existing Blogger roll their Blogging Average

A play on batting averages

I suggest adding to “Then for each existing Blogger roll their Blogging Average” that the result and all is actually applied to the Bloggers, because analogously, I can roll a Match, and do all of the stuff that a Match requires (the math, etc), but that doesn’t actually make it a real Match.

Other than that, it could make just refusing to play matches at all a valid way to play to prevent other people’s Bloggers with high Blogging Average to grow, because “A Manager whose team has played two more games than any other manager may not have their team play in a blogsball game.”

Will likely vote green tick

How often is the average rolled? Also, why can’t a player have a perfect batting average?

players increase their level by an average of .5 each time they play? I can see tracking this number an it giving a benefit, but permanent upgrades are too much.

No, by half that average. 0.99 / 2 = 0.495 or 0.50 since it’s a two digit number. And that’s the best you can get. I think permanent upgrades encourages people to keep their Bloggers. It makes sense that people who have been playing improve slightly each game.

Now that I think about it, it may be more fair to have the stats rolled via the sum of 10 DICE10 instead of 1 DICE100. Take a look here http://anydice.com/program/b76c
For the 10 DICE10 the average Blogging Average is going to be 0.54 which is a 0.27 increase per game played.

With the 1 DICE100 it’s just as likely to get 0.99 as 0.00

I don’t mind the wider variation of d100 vs 10d10. So the ultimate effect is that this is how much players level up per game? What happens to existing players - being 0 by default would be a big handicap.

The last sentence in the proposal is to roll Blogging Averages for existing Bloggers.

I would vote for this with the 10d10 modification.
