Call for Judgment: Plenipotentiary

Enacted at quorum, 4-0. Josh

Adminned at 03 Sep 2023 19:19:57 UTC

Increase the Anointments of the District called Josh by three.

Under the current rules, it is extremely unlikely that I won’t end up winning. I can demonstrate that mathematically but I don’t want to tip my hand too much in case this fails; suffice it to say that I can outright outbid on enough agenda items, some of them two times over, that the scenario in which I don’t win is extremely marginal (it requires Contentment having come up three times, and a collective agreement to funnel the wins to a single player so they can buy them at minimal cost without me catching wind and blocking any of them, before Stability comes up once).

But at a minimum working it through will take 6 days or so, and more likely it’ll be a week or two of plenary sessions before it all comes together. So we have three options:
1. Trudge through it
2. You lot change the rules to block me in some way
3. Let’s just call it now

I obviously prefer option 3, but I really don’t like option 1, so this is a call to the other Districts to decide between the other options.

absolutely not!! idk why you think we’d vote on this w/o you showing the math.

I tried a minimum bid rule to make things go faster, and you rejected it. That means you get to do this the long way. You had your chance to support a method to speed things up, but apparently you were too scared it would work against you. That tells me that we have a better chance than you’re letting on in your “analysis”.

First, I’ll put this in the BlogNomic record, not just in our Discord channel. I apologize to Josh and everyone else for my earlier comment. I shouldn’t have come out so emotionally strong in my objections. lemon had the right way of debating this, and I made the mistake of getting too emotionally invested in letting this play out.

Second, upon seeing Josh’s spreadsheet and the subsequent discussions in Discord, I see the truth of the matter.

Thanks both 😊 And no need to apologise JD, I know as well as anyone how easy it is to get wound up at the end of a competitive dynasty!

I’ll put my for back on this, then

I have some thoughts (and I’m still mad at myself) but I’ll leave it for post-dynastic commentary
