Proposal: Proposals should propose

Add to Rule 1.3, Voting:

A proposal must propose a change to the Gamestate or Ruleset to be considered a valid proposal.  Rules may take precedence over this paragraph, or add additional situations in which a proposal may be considered valid.

I don’t like the spam proposals, and really, there’s no reason to make a “Proposal” if you don’t propose anything.

I support this, assuming it is within my power to vote so soon after joining.

Honesltly, why propose a proposal if you haven’t actually proposed anything?

A) This isn’t a proposal (to make it a proposal, click on the Categories tab in the publish window and click Proposal)

B)There are valid reasons to make a blank proposal and immediately Self-Kill it.  For example, TrumanCapote won a dynasty by making and selfkilling 15 proposals in a 4-hour period.

C)The spam proposals may make sense in the context of a Devil’s Advocate.

D)I could have proposed to do something, but it wouldn’t matter since I knew in advance it would fail.

Yeah, this isn’t a proposal, but against anyway.  There are, in fact, valid reasons to make the “spam” proposals.  I don’t think it got out of hand with the recent ones by Bucky, but if it ever does, we could find a more specific solution more along the lines of restricting a certain Monk.

Having thought about it, I change my vote to against .

You could always just make a proposal that reads along the lines of ” All rules are now considered null and void”, which would constitute trying to change everything, just to have it shot down, getting it self-killed and doing the exact same thing, except that people would actually have to read it.

You can’t stop spam proposals without some serious restrictions on the freedoms of the Monks.

A good point, and I didn’t notice really the “proposal” clicky.  My bad.  Self-kill… if it even exists technically.
