Proposals fail on DoV

Modify the rule titled “Victory and Ascension” by adding the following paragraph at the end.

When a DoV passes, all pending proposals immediately fail.  Proposals failed in this way cannot be subsequently enacted under the rule titled “Enactment”.

You need to put your posts in the “Proposal” category for them to be properly counted as Proposals.

I think this is a bad idea, though - the Emperor can veto any proposals that are inappropriate to the new Dynasty, there’s no need to automatically fail the useful ones (such as Reductio Decretum) as well.

This post was not made in the Proposal category, so….
Anyway, I don’t see what’s wrong with letting the new Emperor decide which props to veto.

This isn’t a proposal: you missed the category widget.

It’s also a bad idea.  The incoming Emperor can veto all irrelevant proposals, leaving the useful ones (like Reductio Decretum).  up until the most recent revision of the ascension rule, one could veto items IN the AA, but that was cut as being useless, as the incoming Emperor can just veto ‘em anyway.

I suppose this is what happens when you tell everyone to report to the same time and space.

Thelonius, you cannot edit an unofficial post into an official post. You have to make a new post in order to propose this change.

Sorry, I thought it was permitted as long as nobody had commented (which they hadn’t when I went to edit it - although they may have done by the time I pressed “Update”).

However, it sounds like nobody is that keen anyway - and as several have pointed out, the Arbiter can sort them out anyway.

Thelonius: you can edit unofficial posts whenver you want, and official posts so long as no one has commented.

You’re not allowed to morph unofficial into official posts under any circumstances, to prevent some quite-obvious scams.
