Proposal: Release Him!

Re adminned to mark as vetoed- Darknight

Adminned at 08 Feb 2010 14:20:01 UTC

Set alethiophile’s status to Healthy and Location to “Parlor”.

There are only two murderers. One of them is Ornithopter. The other one is still active based on the fact that he just wounded me. Looking at the Crisis which restrained alethiophile: http://blognomic.com/archive/crisis_lover_of_truth_my_foot/ there was much debate on whether he was a Detective or a Murderer. Now that he clearly cannot be a murderer, it most certainly is that he is a Detective. So release him from the Cell and have him comeback into the Manor.

veto Vetoed per my comments at the start of the Crisis that arrested him - being arrested is as irreversible as being dead, and isn’t a decision that should be taken lightly.

Kevan, would you let us release people if the jail ends up being filled? If we’re too scared to get rid of people, it gives murderers a big advantage, and if arresting is irreversable, then the cell limit is pointless as we’ll just start lynching suspects instead.

Oh, we should probably just repeal the limit, now that players have decided they want to be able to reroll new, possibly-murderous characters every time they get arrested or killed.

I’d originally intended it as “four chances to catch the two murderers”, possibly building up to a victory condition for the detectives/civilians if they catch both murderers, and a victory condition for the murderers if three innocent guests are arrested. But that doesn’t make as much sense now.

oO This means both mails “Hi, im a Detective, contact me at ...” are written by the same Guest, as alethiophile was not allowed to send an Email:

“As a daily action and if the lights are on, any non-dormant guest may send a letter from any room to the Master Bedroom.”

:P

Where and why did we restrain ornithopter?

from GenreSavvy import *

1. Any reasons except for things he said that would make him a murderer? If he was a murderer, he most likely wouldn’t give himself away (not boring)

2. Rule 2.4 “If there are ever fewer than two Murderers or fewer than two Detectives, the Executor may privately select a random player (from those who are neither Murderers nor Detectives) and privately email them with an offer to make them into a Murderer or a Detective respectively.”

3. Why would a detective lie and get another detective arrested?

I think we can safely assume that the two detective letters were sent by different Guests. Therefore, alethiophile must be a murderer and we were right to have him arrested.

This also means that Ornithopter is innocent (which I knew already, as I am the other murderer).

PS tecslicer dies the next time the lights go out (after this one)

@Put: Ah, thanks.

@Purplebeard: That was definitly not clever (but funny ;))

Wahh, what did I do? After posting this comment, the main page does not contain all Posts, but an Error text: “Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/.magnum/blognomic/www/ee/system/core/core.functions.php(634) : eval()‘d code on line 87”

Strange…
