i do think that making Commons this impactful would significantly diminish the Dilemmas as they currently stand. i like that we’re dealing with small quantities of food and people at the moment! is there a balance we could strike there, instead of making Commons give us such large quantities?

I’m not sure that this massively increases volumes. Each Connection is essentially 1 Upside of value, and you have to take a Downside to capture it, so at 1 connection it’s a wash. If each Connection is 4 energy then at baseline we’ll each make a new one every 4 dilemmas on average, assuming a perfect distribution of Energy Traps, but the cost increases much faster than the availability of Energy is likely to, so in practice Commons are likely to end up yielding 2-3 Upsides in value at most. I’m not sure that we can lower that without making them pointless: it’s a strategy that rewards focus but not one that overwhelms the game imo.

Also bear in mind that you still can’t access Commons without hitting a Govern dilemma, so I’m not sure how it can diminish the dilemmas
