Sixteenth Game: Josh vs Brendan
Josh is the starting player. The Grand Canal is the 7 of Coins. The Bersaglio is 28. All six Tricks are active.

... To be clear, I’m playing that card, not calling you one.
Ten of swords, and yes, it’s time for the demoralising heartbreaker: L’Aria for 0. Read it and weep!
Beginning with the Starting Player, Players of the Game take turns to make a Play, being a comment to the Game’s Table that names exactly one Card and an amount of Score claimed for the Play (defaulting to zero if not specified)
I’ll be interpreting your claim for Il Verme as a zero point claim and accepting your Sfida.
I play Star.
Hmm, I think this situation is debatable, because scoring is still automatic under “Tricks:”
For each Trick which is active in the game in their Pocket they score the indicated points.
Those two rules read as equally limited in scope, to me.
The verb “active” in there isn’t defined, though; I’d speculate that activation is implied to be needed, which would be the claim mandated in Tournament Rules of Giolitti. But I’ll happily wait for a CfJ.
Similarly, I’d speculate than “Il Verme” can be “an amount,” since the definition of the trick includes an integer score number.
I think I’d have to disagree a but more strenuously on that; the requirement clearly says “an amount of score”
And I can’t see any justification for that being anything but a number.
In the meantime, I play 10 of Batons, and CLAIM THE ACTIVATION AND SCORE OF L’Aria FOR A ONE-POINT AMOUNT OF SCORE.
Hah! Well played.
I play the 90 of Carbuncles, go ahead dealer, fine me.
That might not be a legal play as I’m playing a card that doesn’t exist, so I play Death.
That was well played though; I knew I should have declined the sfida.
Josh is identified as playing a card that was not in their hand for the Game (Death). Brendan is Campione and gains 2 Pegs and 4 Magistrelli; Josh loses 2 Pegs.
Josh: he/they
Best of luck Brendan!
Knave of Batons.
