We could alternatively take the dice roll out of the manufacturing process, let the assembler choose the size of the box, and then multiply that by the material to get the box’s value.

Because as it stands the manufacturing crew could end up in a situation where they try to make a box and fail because the production cost roll ends up being too high for the budget. My original vision was to roll for the size of the box but that got lost somewhere along the way.

I noticed that, yeah. But I feel like arbitrarily assigning a box a size isn’t the right way to go about a fix, especially because that could end up being worse.

I’m curious how you see that ending up worse. Even if someone in the factory makes a box so big they blow the whole budget, our crack sales team will always at least break even. Even so, we could also put a cap on box size.

Actually, I think i will propose to tweak producing a box so the company budget is deceased only by the production cost, not the entire value of the box and that should solve that issue.

@lemon, I’m not against the idea of size, it’s just useless at the moment, so I’m trimming the fat. I would probably vote FOR reimplementing it too if done in a way I think would work.
