Proposal: Well, we’re out of Hiatus now, so…

Times out and passes 10-8. -Bucky

In rule 3.1 “Keywords”, change

Daily Action
If a game action is a Daily Action, each Player able to perform it may take that action once each day, but not more than once every six hours.

to

Daily Action
If a game action is a Daily Action, each Player able to perform it may take that action once each day, but not more than once every eighteen hours.

If you’re going to avoid day boundary timing scams, do it properly. (The motivation for this proposal is explained in my rant post slightly down the blog; and dynasty changeover is a great time for core proposals.)

Not sure about this. It’s the equivalent to asking players to pick a consistent six hour window in which to take even the smallest chain of daily actions, which seems unnecessarily tough on players with unpredictable online times.

@Kevan: That is indeed the purpose. Having to consistently hit the start of an eighteen-hour window that can’t overlap midnight is much more wearing than having to consistently hit the start of a six-hour window that can’t overlap midnight, as I really don’t have the inclination to arrive at BlogNomic at 6am.

18 hours is too much IMO. Something like 10-12 would be more feasible to avoid the point Kevan brings up above.

But it also means if a player isn’t online at consistent times every day, they can only play the grind or join the timing scam at half speed. Eight or ten hours might be fairer, to keep both the tired scammer and the sporadic player happy.

Midnight UTC is a great time for me, 4pm - I can be online for several hours before and after without changing my schedule or staying up late.  For ais523, on the other hand, it’s late, and at best he can stay online most of an hour afterward.  Other people are asleep.  This situation, while advantageous for me, is patently unfair.

I’m not sure this is the best solution, though - in some cases, it still rewards people who can take a series of (up to 4) actions exactly 18 hours apart.

How is 18 more of a pain to track than the current 6? for
