In the rule Spies {I}, change “secretly randomly select a Participant on the opposite team” to “secretly randomly select a non-Mastermind Participant on the opposite team”.
If any Mastermind is a Spy then they cease to be a Spy.

I will probably vote for this – I don’t think there’s a particular advantage to keeping the “the Mastermind could be a spy!” mechanic around.
