Proposal: Urgent Proposals

Self-killed.  Adminned by Bucky ON BEHALF OF comex

Adminned at 30 Oct 2011 21:27:47 UTC

REPRESENTING: comex, Amnistar, southpointingchariot

Today’s economy often moves too quickly for the law to keep up.  To ensure that we remain the leader in economic innovation, enact a rule titled “Urgent
Proposals”:

Any Proposal whose title starts with “URGENT:” is an Urgent Proposal.  If an Urgent Proposal is Pending but not the oldest pending Proposal, any Admin may resolve it as if it were, ON BEHALF OF the Proposal’s author.

against If this passed, you’d need to be extremely careful about the wording of regular proposals. Simple changes would need to compare huge amounts of text, otherwise you could end up with a normally proposed fix breaking an urgently proposed fix which was passed first.

It would just be the responsibility of the urgent proposer not to propose any changes that would break previously submitted pending proposals.  In any case, it’s pretty rare for proposals to actually conflict in this way.

against If it were a special kind of proposal, then yes. For example, have the author create a Urgent Proposal with an [URGENT] tag or something like that.

Arthexis: It is?  Your proposal has to start with URGENT.

And, just to be pedant, a Proposal is not a person, so the correct pronoun is “which” not “whose”.

Still can’t fathom why anyone would vote against this, but it’s in my best interests to quickly collect:  against s/k

actually, this is close to failing by itself, might as well not waste a SP:  imperial

Don’t think you can do that.  “If a Player Votes against their own Proposal, this renders the Proposal self-killed and that Vote may not be changed.”
