I agree. I think it’s sort of often already achieved with things that are heavily implied to be the winning victory “thing”, or “things” that would contribute to it, even if it’s not outright explicit.

For what it’s worth I’d probably try the SCP dynasty idea if I got the mantle here.
No vote from me: as far as I’m concerned, Cuddlebeam has already achieved victory, and this DoV is redundant.
No objection to Kevan’s becoming Emperor, either.
As for the “early points” subject, my impression was that such a system would have been instituted within days of the dynasty’s beginning had we been able to agree on what it ought to look like. It’s only an impression, though…
The Dynasty cant end until I do this though. (Or some omnipotent device is used like a Proposal or CfJ or something)

BlogNomic is an online Nomic: a self-modifying game where changing the rules is part of the game. Players make blog posts proposing additions or alterations to the ruleset, discussing and casting votes in the comments: if enough vote in favour, the rules are changed and play continues.

The ending there does make me wonder if future dynasties would benefit from a clear “victory point” proxy, early on (even just a bland line of “a Person’s Success is the total value of all their Factors”), so that if the game did falter, it would be a natural resolution to reach for - and would give everyone a sense that it’s probably worth building up some VP even if the dynasty tailed off later. Not sure how much this would distract us from writing other types of victory condition, though.
