Reword the entire rule “Health” to read:
Each Player has a Health statistic, tracked in the GNDT. The permitted values are “Healthyâ€, “Woundedâ€, and “Dead” (which may be abbreviated for all purposes, including the GNDT, as H, W, and D, respectively). All Players initially have the Health status of Healthy. If a Player becomes Wounded, he automatically becomes Unseated, and no Player who is Unseated may become Seated if he is not Healthy.
If a Wounded Player engages in a shootout and would become Wounded again, he instead becomes Dead and all of his money is transfered to the other participant in the shootout unless the other participant becomes Dead as well. In the case where both participants in a shootout would become Dead, each Player’s money statistic is set to “$0”. Dead Players cannot have any money, win a Pot, be Seated, or engage in shootouts.
Change the sentence in the rule “Gunslinging” the currently reads
As a Daily action, any Healthy Player may challenge any other Healthy Player to a Shootout by making a post to the main blog to that effect.
to
As a Daily action, any non-Dead Player may challenge any other non-Dead Player to a Shootout by making a post to the main blog to that effect.
Let’s get ready to rob that train.

I have repealed the rules “Doctor”, “Working”, “Poverty”, and “Ending the Game”.
The only additional effect this has is that we can no longer work, and Uncle Sam is gone.
Another train arrives at 00:00:01 on March 6, long after the Doctor’s departure. The guards are Anderson, Bruford, Wakeman and Howe. There are ten (10) Safes.

I will give you one more chance, Aaronwinborn, to best me in a duel. Therefore, I challenge you!

Add a new rule called “Slot Machines” to the rule set. Give it the following text:
As a daily action, a player may wager a positive amount of money on the slot machines. To do this, he decreases his money by X where X is a positive integer value, called his wager. A player may not wager more money than he actually has.
The player doing the wager then rolls a DICE10 DICE10 DICE10. These three dice are called the first slot, second slot and third slot respectively.
If the second slot and the third slot are the same number, but the first slot is not, the player gains X * Y money where X was his wager and Y was the value of the matching pair in the dice rolls.
If all three slots show the same number, the player gets 10 * X * Y money where X was his wager and Y was the value of the matching triplet in the dice rolls.

Clucky seems to have gone idle. With that, we seem to be a bit low on admins (and players for that matter). In that case, I would like to submit a tentative proposal to become and Admin.
Hand #4 is starting. Ante is $30. (Would someone else kindly set the GNDT accordingly?)

Part 1:
Add $30 (ante) to each Seated Player’s money statistic. Add each Player’s TBTH amount to his money statistic. Set each Player’s TBTR and TBTH statistic to $0. Set ThePot’s money statistic to $0.
Part 2:
All previous shootout challenges and Train Posts are considered null.
Part 3:
A shootout tournament starts that includes all active Players who do not include the text “leave me out” in his comment to this post (called “participants”). No Player who makes such a comment can achieve victory. The first round of the tournament shall commence as follows:
The first participant listed in the GNDT shall challenge the second participant listed in the GNDT; the third participant listed in the GNDT shall challenge the fourth participant listed in the GNDT; and so on. If there is an odd number of participants, a DICEX (where X is the number of participants in this round) will be rolled in the GNDT. The corresponding participant (counting down in the GNDT) will not be participate in this round. All participants who are challenged to a shootout will automatically accept that challenge. All Players who are wounded are robbed by the Player who wounded him and cease to be participants.
Each successive round of the tournament shall be done in the same manner as the first round. After each round, the remaining participants’ money statistics are analyzed to determine if any one Player meets any of the victory conditions. If not, the next round commences.
It’s time to settle this! Aaronwinborn, I challenge you to a duel at high noon.
Evening, arthexis here! I’ve stumbled across this place and would certainly like to play. However, I will begin doing so as soon as a new round starts. I will be around here lurking and watching meanwhile. Thanks!
I have a plan to end this dynasty very soon but would like to get the popular opinion on this matter before I actually make the proposal.
Please comment to this post on whether or not you want to see this dynasty to end quickly and fairly.
I challenge Aaronwinborn to a shootout.

If “Can someone spot me a fiver?” passes, add a subrule to “Debt” titled “The Bank” with the following text:
There exists an entity separate from any other Player called “The Bank” who has an infinite amount of money and cannot win, be Seated, or be challenged to a shootout.
If a Player has made a story post requesting any amount of money as prescribed in the rule “Debt” but no other Player has loaned the money to him after 48 hours, The Bank will become the loaner for that Player’s loan as described in the rule “Debt”.

Adminned at 25 Feb 2008 18:34:27 UTC
Add a new dynastic rule titled “Debt” with the following text:
Each Player has a statistic tracked in the GNDT called “Debt”.
A Player who is not currently in debt (the “debtor”) may at any time make a story post detailing how much money he needs (the “loan”) and why he needs it. Any other Player who has at least the amount of money stated may make a comment to that post stating that he is willing to loan the money to the debtor. The first Player to make a comment to this effect (the “loaner”) will subtract the amount of the loan from his money statistic and add it to the money statistic of the debtor. He will then change the debtor’s Debt statistic to his name followed by the amount of the loan and the current interest rate. The debtor is then considered to be in debt.
A Player in debt may at any time subtract an amount of money less than or equal to his loan amount but not to exceed the amount in his own money statistic from his money statistic and his loan amount and add the amount to his loaner’s money statistic. If this would put his loan amount at exactly $0, he sets his Debt statistic to “-” and he is not considered to be in debt.
For victory purposes only, the amount of money held by a Player is the amount in his money statistic plus all loans to which he is the loaner minus the amount of the loan to which he is the debtor.
For example, if a Player has $200 in his money statistic, he has loaned 3 other Players money in the amounts of $50, $100, and $200, and he currently owes another Player $150, for victory purposes he has $400.
Add a sub rule to “Debt” titled “Interest Rates” with the following text:
Any Player may, if no Player has done so in the past week, set the current interest rate to X%, where X is the result of a roll of DICE15 in the GNDT.
At the beginning of each week, each debtor’s loan amount is to be set at the amount plus Y% of the amount, where Y is the interest rate stated in the debtor’s Debt statistic.

It’s time to rob the train.

Add a new Core Rule titled “Metadynasties” with the following text:
If the Dealer leaves the game for any reason (i.e. he goes idle.), the game enter a Metadynasty period. During this time, any Admin may act as the Dealer as described in the Dynastic Rules until another Player achieves victory. This type of action is called a Dealer Action. If any Admin performs a Dealer Action that is explicitly limited (e.g. as a daily action or a weekly action), then no Admin may perform that Dealer Action again until the Ruleset allows it.
For example, if there is no Dealer and an Admin performs a Dealer Action that is stated in the Dynastic Rules to be a Weekly Action, then another Admin may not perform that same Dealer Action for the remainder of that week.
This rule will allow the group of Admins to take over the role of the Dealer if the Dealer goes idle. It should prevent the disaster that occurred in the last dynasty when Hix went idle.

Add a new dynastic rule titled “Ending the Game” with the following text:
Any time after 00:00:01 on February 29, 2008, any Admin may repeal the following rules without consent:
- “Doctor”
- “Working”
- “Poverty”When all listed rules have been repealed, this rule may be repealed.
Change “As a Weekly action,” in the rule “Gunslinging” to “As a Daily action,”.
I have returned to finish this dynasty. Unfortunately, Amnistar has gone idle, since e has not posted anything in over 3 weeks. Quorum remains the same.
I don’t want a wild west dynasty to end with a whimper; a bang would be much more fitting. How would people like to proceed:
- more frequent and more dangerous (but potentially more lucrative) train robbery opportunities?
- higher stakes poker?
- some sort of mechanism to get more gun battles going between Players?
- something else?
The reason why I had that component of my “accelerator” proposal to have the doctor go off duty at some date certain is because if being unwounded ends up being one of the routes to victory, we need people who become wounded to stay wounded.
Any thoughts?

Part 1:
Rewrite the dynastic rule “Time Limit”, which currently reads:
If during a Hand it becomes a particular Seated Player’s turn to act (i.e., Check, Call, Raise or Fold, as applicable) and that Seated Player fails to take one of those valid actions within 96 hours after it became his turn to act, then the Dealer may (but is not required to) cause such Seated Player to Fold.
so that it reads:
If during a Hand it becomes a particular Seated Player’s turn to act (i.e., Check, Call, Raise or Fold, as applicable) and that Seated Player fails to take one of those valid actions within 48 hours after it became his turn to act, then the Dealer or any Player may cause such Seated Player to Fold.
Part 2:
Add the following text to the end of the dynastic rule: “Doctor”:
From and after 00:00:01 on February X, 2008, the Doctor will no longer be able to enable a Player to become Healthy.
Part 3: In Part 2, substitute “X” for the date in February, later than February 17, that is included in the most valid final votes on this proposal (for example, if there are seven valid final votes on this proposal, and three support February 18, two support February 19 and two support February 29, then X shall be “18”.

On January 23, Rodlen challenged Aaronwinborn to a shootout. As far as I can tell, the time period lapsed without any response from Aaronwinborn. Shouldn’t an admin therefor set Aaronwinborn’s courage to “Yellow”?

I believe this is enacted: “It has been open for voting for at least 48 hours, it has more than 1 valid vote, more than half of its votes are FOR, and it has not been vetoed or self-killed.” and “A vote of DEFERENTIAL is a vote of no opinion…”. Passed 1-0-1, enacted by aaronwinborn. Feel free to fix this if I was wrong about deferential votes being valid or not.
Adminned at 07 Feb 2008 11:15:32 UTC
Add a new Dynastic rule, entitled ‘Cheater!’, as follows:
Any seated player with a courage that is not “Yellow” may accuse another player of cheating by making a blog post to that effect, creating a state of open accusation. If the accused player does not then post his entire unaltered deck to a wiki post within 96 hours, his courage will be changed to “Yellow”. Otherwise, if the deck reveals that the accused player cheated in the game, then the accused player will become unseated, and his courage will be changed to “Yellow”; or if the deck vindicates that player, showing that he did not cheat, then the accusing player’s courage shall instead be changed to “Yellow”. Any of these outcomes (a time out, or the revelation of the player’s deck) will close the state of accusation.
While there is at least one open accusation, then no player may win the hand.
I set the time to 96 hours to allow a player to respond by challenging to a draw instead. We can always change the time limit of this (and/or of the draw) if we need to tweak them. Thus, if a player has not cheated, it’s probably in his best interest to just reveal his deck. If he has cheated, he can wait it out, but risk that someone will challenge him to a draw. Or he can challenge the accuser to a draw, hoping at least to unseat that player, and then still wait it out, becoming yellow, but still possibly winning the hand. Lots of strategic possibility here.
Also, it might be interesting to allow a player to post an altered deck, but allow for the possibility of a third party (Kevan?) to verify the deck for a “fee”. Not sure how to write that out though.

Add a new Dynastic rule, entitled ‘Dealing from the Bottom’, as follows:
A player may, when revealing their Hole Cards, substitute any one or two cards for the actual cards dealt.
We obviously would need a way to deal with accusations, ideally in a way that allows the dealer to continue playing. I’m proposing one method in the following proposal, but there may be a better method. In any case, whatever method of accusations we come up with, the mechanic of cheating will probably be the same as what’s proposed here, which is why I’ve separated that.
You know the drill.
The next Train is scheduled to arrive at town on February 7, 2008 at 00:00:01. There are three Guards: (Annie Oakley, Burt, and Clint) and eight Safes. However, Annie has a QuickDraw of 5.
