Timed out and failed, 6-2, with one unresolved DEF. Josh

Add a new Institution called “Cyborg Factory” and give it the following text

When a Player Influences the Cyborg Factory, they a gain number of Marines equal to the square root of the amount of Power they directed at the Cyborg Factory during that Cycle, rounded down. Players lose all Power that directed at the Cyborg Factory each Cycle even if they fail to Influence it.

Add a new Institution called “The Altar” and give it the following text

When a Player Influences The Altar they gain 10X Power where X is the number of Councilmen they directed at The Altar during that Cycle.

We technically can Direct Councilmen and Power as well as Marines and Credits. Might as well make use of this mechanic…

against I like that we can have institutions that use these resources. However, the Cyborg Factory is underpowered, given that Power is effectively Victory Points. I wouldn’t mind that, if it weren’t that the Altar is massively overpowered - Councilmen are, at present, worth one-tenth of the Power of the game at the end, as a one-shot. This massively inflates their value - at present there’s 28 Power in the game, and two Councilmen, meaning that each Councilman is currently worth 1.4 Power, although even that is flattering as only the Councilmen leader can benefit from them. Increasing that to 10 to 1 is a degree of inflation I’m not sure I’m comfortable with, especially as there is no other way of getting 10 Power in one shot at present. Some manner of inflation or use for the resource would be great, as they are currently neglected, but making them suddenly massively vital does not appear ideal.

The dynasty also isn’t close to ending. I was assuming there will be lots more power towards the end.

I’d still disagree that the Cyborg Factory is underpowered. Mine is five power, spend that on the Cyborg Factory and you get two marines which is 11 credits from the BM or 2 legions.
