To the rule “Stances”, add:-
An Editor may, at any time, blank his or her Newspaper’s Stances and Name, and set all of its Reputation Scores to zero.
Allowing a tactical reset, which also lifts the early adopters’ disadvantage in having picked their Stances before the first Wire came through.
I thought we were supposed to “anticipate” that kind of things. Oh and also I’m not one of the early adopters :)
It’s more for the tactical reset, really; there should probably be some way to move into different Stances if the ones you picked aren’t working out, and this seems an appropriately costly one. But I like early adopters, they help keep the game moving.
It also came up a few dynasties ago that a reset button can be a good thing; if you mess your gamestate up, you should be able to start again as if you were a new player (given that all other non-player humans can do this).
BlogNomic is an online Nomic: a self-modifying game where changing the rules is part of the game. Players make blog posts proposing additions or alterations to the ruleset, discussing and casting votes in the comments: if enough vote in favour, the rules are changed and play continues.
The game has been running since 2003 and resets every month or so. Have a look around the wiki for more information and history. New players are always welcome and can join in the game at any time.
