Enact a new rule entitled “Power” as follows:
Each Soul has an amount of Power, defaulting to 0.
Enact a new rule entitled “Challenges” as follows:
There exists a list of Challenges, which is publicly tracked, defaulting to an empty list. Each Challenge must have a Dynasty Name, which is flavor text; a Prize, which is the name of a Relic that is not Lost; and a Creator, which is the name of a single Soul.
As a Daily Action, any Dark Soul who holds a Relic may spend 2 Prominence to create a Challenge, an atomic action with the following steps:
* Selecting a Dynasty name from among the Dynasties listed in the “Dynastic history” section of the Main Page of the BlogNomic wiki as of November 28th, 2021, which takes the form of the Dynasty’s emperor’s name (if any) and ordinal designation (such as “The First Dynasty of Myke”, “Myke I” or “The First Metadynasty”).
* Ceasing to hold a single Relic.
* Setting the Dynasty Name of the new Challenge to the Dynasty selected above, setting the Prize of the Challenge to the name of the Relic they just ceased to hold, and setting the Creator of the Challenge to their own name.
* Creating a Story Post which announces the Challenge, optionally including a flavor text description of the Challenge’s nature and perils.As a Daily Action, if there is a Challenge created by a given Soul in the list of Challenges, that Soul may gain 1 Power.
As a Daily Action, if it has been at least 24 hours since a Dark Soul gained 1 Power from a given Challenge which they created, that Soul may close that Challenge, an atomic action with the following steps:
* Commencing to hold the Relic that was the Prize of the Challenge.
* Deleting the Challenge from the list of Challenges.
* Commenting on the Story Post they made when creating the Challenge to declare it closed.
Enact a new subrule of “Challenging” entitled “Heritage” as follows:
If a Relic is from the same Dynasty as the Dynasty named in a given Challenge, or is from a Dynasty which had the same Emperor as the Dynasty so named, then that Relic is considered to have a Heritage Connection to that Challenge.
Enact a new subrule of “Challenging” entitled “Adventuring” as follows:
At any time, a Mortal Soul may attempt a Challenge in the list of Challenges, if that Soul has Dimension Access to the Dynasty named by that Challenge. Attempting a Challenge is an atomic action with the following steps:
* Making a comment in the Dice Roller specifying a single Challenge which they are attempting.
* Starting with an Attack of 3, a Defense of 0, and a Goal of X, where X is the Power of the Soul who created the Challenge that is being attempted.
* Adding 3 to the Attack for each Armament the Soul holds, or instead adding 6 to the Attack if they hold an Armament with a Heritage Connection to the Challenge.
* Adding 3 to the Defense if the Soul hold a Garb that does not have a Heritage Connection to the Challenge.
* Gaining 1 Prominence if the Soul holds a Tool, or instead gaining 3 Prominence if they hold a Tool with a Heritage Connection to the Challenge.
* Rolling DICEX, where X is their Attack, to yield this attempt’s Chance.
* Adding their Defense to this attempt’s Chance.
* Optionally spending 1 Prominence to increase the Chance by 1.
* If the Chance is greater than the Goal, then the attempt is successful; the Soul gains Prominence equal to the Goal, gains 1 Power, and commences to hold the Relic which is the Prize of the Challenge. The Soul must then delete the Challenge from the list of Challenges and comment on its original Story Post to declare it closed.
* If the Chance is not greater than the Goal, then the attempt is not successful; the Soul loses Prominence equal to their Chance.
Probably too ambitious for a single proposal, but let’s give it a shot. This gives Relics two purposes: Dark Souls can play a push-your-luck game, risking them as long as they choose to build up Power; Mortals can use them to risk their lives on those challenges, with big rewards. Challenges will probably be easy for Mortals at first but will get harder as Dark Souls gain Power.

Add the following rule, called “Relics of Power”, to the dynastic ruleset:
A Soul may hold zero or more Relics, defaulting to no Relics. A Dark Soul may hold up to three Relics at a time, while a Mortal Soul may hold up to five Relics at a time. The Relics that a Soul is holding, as well as their variables, are publicly tracked. A single Relic may not be held by more than one Soul. A Soul may rearrange the order their held Relics are listed in at any time.
Each Relic has a Name, which is a string of flavour text that is not also the Name of any other Relic; a Type, which is one of Aegis, Armament, Garb, Tool, or Trinket (defaulting to Trinket); and a Power, which is one constellation named in the list at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Former_constellation#List_of_former_constellations that is not also the name of a Soul or idle Soul.
If a Soul is holding more Relics than they are permitted to hold (see above), the last Relic listed of the Relics that they are holding becomes Lost.

the idea here is that these are things that will give us benefits of some kind, but that the mortal team is allowed to have more per-person than the dark team (as they’re outnumbered, & the dark team has more ability to co-ordinate). maybe dark souls, being less physical, must seek power through more esoteric means?
a couple souls have voiced displeasure with this dynasty’s asymmetrical/unbalanced design. i for one think it’s very neat and exciting, and encourage everyone to keep an open mind! i understand that coming from the soul with the third greatest contribution that might sound cheap, but i really do mean it: i’d be happy to play as one of the outnumbered underdogs in this dynasty!
so with that in mind, here’s an offer: if there’s a player among the mortals (including u silverwing, if ur checking in?) who feels like they want to enjoy this dynasty, but their fun will be ruined by playing as a mortal, let me know & i’ll post a proposal to swap teams & prominence scores w/ you soon. if there’s multiple requests, i’m sure we can come to an agreement about it. i just don’t want any of y’all to feel too discouraged to play in a dynasty u’d like otherwise– whether i’m with or against them, i do want there to be a few enthusiastically outnumbered heroes!!

Divide all Souls’ Prominence by 3, rounding up. For each Soul that was a non-Idle Soul at 22:00:00 on Nov 26, 2021, add 2 to their Prominence.

Remove the Slack and Slack Channel entries from the appendix.
Replace the Discord Channel entry in the appendix with “A Discord Channel is any channel on the BlogNomic Discord in the BlogNomic Discussion category. All Souls who are in the Discord should have the ability to access all of these channels. To reference a Discord Channel, use a hash (#) followed by the name of that channel (e.g. #random).”
Replace the phrase “the #currentdynasty or #general channels of the BlogNomic Slack” with “Discord Channels”.
Replace all instances of “Slack” in the ruleset with “Discord”.
In addition, remove the text “The Dark One is always permitted to inform the Traitor of their role if the Special Case rule “The Traitor” is active.” from the ruleset.
This has been mooted for a while I think, but now that No Collaboration (which references the Slack) is active, it seems like time to commit to the change.

Yesterday at 10:10 UTC I erroneously carried out a fighting action with an illegal step. In the first roll I rolled a Miss; in the second I rolled a Taunt; in the third I rerolled both, mistakenly believing that the Taunt allowed me to reroll the held-over Miss, while in fact there’s no provision in the rule for re-rolling previously held over dice.
The person I targeted with that move has already taken their move, and the person they targeted has now also taken their move, so reverting is at this stage not ideal.
Therefore, please uphold the Fighting action taken by the Realtor called Josh on 23/11/2021 as having been legally completed, and then reduce their Contribution by 1.

I could have tried to just keep this under my hat, but I don’t want it to crop up as a nightmare broken-dependency chain later in the dynasty, so I offer this solution in good faith.

Enact a new subrule of “Realtor Rumble” entitled “Quorum Tiebreaker” as follows:
While each team has at least two members, the author of a Votable Matter cannot be considered to have voted FOR on that Votable Matter unless it has at least one effective vote of FOR by a Realtor who does not share the author’s team.
Going back and forth about whether this should be effectively a filibuster or an optional united-team veto; leaning toward the latter for now. I associate this conjecture with Kevan, but it’s come up more than once in discussion that it would be quite straightforward for a cabal the same size as quorum to just vote through a win by fiat. Since we have no Eli Curf to veto things, I’d like to head that off if possible.

We have a weird situation here, where Brendan has a good scam - a great scam, even - that may not work for purely technical reasons; but the person who would win if it fails doesn’t really deserve it.
Fortunately as ais523 once said, we have a perfectly good mechanism for determining who has won BlogNomic; it’s called a dynasty.
In this situation I propose a short, fun tie-break dynasty. I’m removing myself from contention - I was idle, I didn’t have a scam, I didn’t have the most RP, all I had was a lucky dice roll - so that the two players who really deserved to win The First Dynasty of Trapdoorspyder can duke it out.

Reword the paragraph of the rule “REALTOR Points” that begins “If it is on or after…” as follows:
If it is on or after Sunday November 14th 2021, then no Dynastic Actions may be taken, and Eli Curf may randomly determine the REALTOR PRIME. This shall be accomplished by rolling DICEX, where X is the total number of RP held by all Realtors who have least 1 RP. No Realtor will be considered to have more than 16 RP for the purposes of this roll. The roll will correspond to a Realtor whose position in the list of Realtors matches their proportion of the total X, starting with the first Realtor in alphabetical order. That Realtor is thus determined to be REALTOR PRIME.
If Eli Curf has determined a REALTOR PRIME, then the REALTOR PRIME achieves and has achieved Victory in the current dynasty.

With fifty-something hours left in the dynasty and no other pending Proposals, it is not mathematically feasible for any player to catch up to TyGuy6’s lead using the existing rules. Instead of establishing a single victor by first-past-the-post metrics, this gives a minor chance at victory to each player who has committed to actually playing things out. Remove the paragraph from the Rule “Buyer Eligibility” that says, “If a Buyer ceases to be an Attendee at an Open House as an immediate and direct consequence the activation of a Trap purchased by a given Realtor, then the Realtor who purchased that Trap gains 0.5 RP.”
Remove all RP that has been gained according to that paragraph since the submission of this Proposal.
Since they’ll have lost their usefulness, remove and refund all Traps placed by each Realtor who has the word “green” in their Effective Vote Comment on this Proposal.
This is the rule that allowed me my trapping spree, and is what I think should go. The Open House rule could do with some rework, too.

A dispute has arisen in an auction post about the legality of Day and Night actions (hereafter Auction Actions) when the author is the auctioneer.
The relevant passage of the ruleset is:
The Realtor who posted each Auction is the Auctioneer for that Auction. An Auction’s Auctioneer may not make a Valid Bid on it, although they may undertake Day or Night actions on it.
A Bid is defined as a comment that ‘contains a single, whole number’, while a Auction Action is defined as a ‘single comment in one of the formats in the following list’, all of which contain the addresses being affected and, therefore, a single, whole number. It is not possible to modify the Auction Action to get around this, as the format of the action comment is prescribed. An auction action therefore is also always a bid.
TyGuy’s argument is that, as the Auctioneer on the Auction, I therefore can’t carry out the Auction Action as the Auction Action is also a bid and I can’t make bids. My argument is twofold:
1) If it is true that an Auction Action is always both a Bid and an Auction Action (and it seems like that’s the case), then the Bid may be illegal, but that doesn’t mean that the Auction Action is illegal as well. The rule explicitly says “An Auction’s Auctioneer [...] may undertake Day or Night actions on it”, and the principle established elsewhere in the ruleset is that the game can selectively accept the legal parts of a text while rejecting the illegal parts of it.
2) If we apply the rule that way consistently then we have… problems. For example: Jumble should have won this auction with a bid of 100, or have been prevented from Repairing due to not having enough Bucks to make the Auction Action comment. It might mean that Auction Actions are all actually illegal, as Auction Actions can only be made when an Auctioneer has no Valid Bid; but if they themselvesare a Valid Bid then the status of those actions becomes very hazy and probably illegal.
The remedy, then, is to make the rule work as intended, I think: uphold that all Day or Night Actions to have taken place prior to the posting of this CfJ were legally carried out, except for those to have been made illegal by a previous CfJ. Uphold my Day Action in this auction post. In the rule Whose to Sell, after the text ‘which contains a single, whole number’, add ‘and is not in the format of a Day or Night Action’.

Reduce the Bucks of all Realtors by 75. In the rule Bucks, change the number 100 to 45 and remove the second sentence from the rule. If any Realtor has increased the Bucks of all Realtors thanks to an atomic action since this proposal was posted, revert that change. If the enactment of this proposal would require that any Realtor have their Bucks set to a negative value then instead set their Bucks to zero and remove them as the Seller from any properties for which they are the Seller.
The economy at the moment resists making any meaningful decisions about money, as we passively earn it faster than we spend it.
